Become a Mini-Altituder
Season 26/27 Outreach Mission
Coming to Altitude Mission for four to six weeks would be an immersive, stretching, and deeply formative experience. You’d step away from everyday routines and into a focused season of growth—spiritually, personally, and practically—living in close community, serving with purpose, and being challenged to go deeper in your faith.
It’s a space to learn, reflect, and be equipped, while building meaningful relationships and gaining clarity, confidence, and direction for what God may be calling you into next.
WHAT ARE THE STAGES OF THE SELECTION PROCESS?
STAGE ONE: Online Application
The application process begins with you completing an online application form, as well as recording a one-minute video answering the question ‘What is it about Altitude Mission that really excites you?’
STAGE TWO: Online Interview
If successful at the Online Application, we will invite you to an online interview where you will be interviewed by some past Altitude Alumni. This is a chance for us to get to know you a bit better, and it is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have!
We aim to let candidates know the result of each stage as soon as possible.
FAQ’s
What will I do as a Mini-Altituder?
As a Mini Altituder, you will take part in the everyday life of Altitude Mission, getting a real taste of what the programme is like. Over the four to six weeks, you will join in weekly rhythms such as prayer, worship, and teaching, while also serving practically in and around the mission. This may include washing up, baking, helping with pre-dinner preparation, and other behind-the-scenes tasks.
You will also be involved with Ski Angels, supporting outreach on the mountain and occasionally in resort. Mini Altituders will live and learn in community, build meaningful relationships, be stretched personally and spiritually, and receive input and mentoring as they experience mission in action rather than from the sidelines. Once a week, both Mini-Altituders and Altituders are responsible for cleaning the chalet from top to bottom — learning practical skills such as cleaning bathrooms, making beds, and deep-cleaning the kitchen, among other tasks.
What are you looking for in a Mini-Altituder?
A great Mini Altituder is curious about God and open to being stretched, even when it feels uncomfortable. They show up with a good attitude, ready to engage in community, serve practically, and lean into the rhythm of the mission. You’re looking for humility, resilience, and a willingness to learn — someone who listens well, takes feedback, and is prepared to step outside their comfort zone. Most of all, they should have a genuine desire to invest in the time, people, and process, trusting that God will use the weeks at Altitude Mission to shape them.
Can I join for any part of the season?
We have 4 start dates for mini Altituders. One each month from December to March.
Where will I stay?
You’ll stay in Chalet Altitude with all the Altituders and the team.
Will I be able to Ski Angel?
Everyone with a REC 2-day Outdoor First Aid training and a good level of skiing (assessed when you arrive - competent on red slopes) will be able to Ski Angel a full shift. If you’re not there on the skiing front yet, you can Ski Angel at Folie Douce and get the chairlift down.
Is Ski Angel Training Included?
Please note that Ski Angel training is not included while in resort. However, training can be completed in advance either by attending our specialised Ski Angel first aid training courses at Stampwell Farm, Beaconsfield HP9 2EX (dates tbc) or independently through the online resource https://recfirstaid.net/
Completing training beforehand and being a competent skier on red runs ensures you’re well prepared and able to fully engage in Ski Angels outreach during your time at Altitude Mission.
